Restaurant Review Urban Chai

Ambiance and Decor:

Urban Chai is one of those hidden gems you want to tell the world about but at the same time keep just to yourself.

As soon as you walk through the door you feel like you’re coming home. The staff are engaging and welcoming, as is the decor, with details in every corner to add to the urban but cosy concept.

Food Experience:

The menu includes fresh juices, smoothies and shakes and appeals to all: babies, children and adults alike.   Whether you choose a light and healthy meal or fancy something more homely and hearty, vegetarian, or gluten free, Urban Chai has it covered.   This restaurant truly has something to delight to all taste buds, all dietary needs.

The Food is always fresh, prepared from scratch and beautifully presented.  Ample vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are also a noteworthy feature.

The style of cuisine is also very varied, from traditional dishes, such as English breakfast, Eggs Benedict and pancakes with berries and syrup to Thai dishes, chilli con carne, wraps and bowls, which are just some of my personal favourites!

A nice touch is that breakfast is served all day and there is also a dish of the day additional to the set menu and a range of homemade cakes.

On Sundays as of 1pm during the winter months you can enjoy one of the best Sunday lunches on the coast, vegetarian nut roast also served.  Reserve if you don’t want to be disappointed.

There is a children’s breakfast and lunch menu and high chairs are available as well as colours and colouring books!

It’s also a great place for a family gathering or intimate event; I held a baby shower there and they couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming.

Bathrooms and Facilities:

There are 2 bathrooms, which are cute and very clean.  The larger one has a baby changing station, again reinforcing it’s family friendly feel.

Parking and Accessibility:

There is usually ample street parking on the side streets or the supermarket car park just next door is another handy alternative.

Staff Friendliness and Service:

The owner and staff are exceedingly warm, welcoming and friendly, quickly bonding with all customers and learning their individual likes to anticipate our needs.  Again, this makes for a home from home experience.

Special Considerations:

The assortment of non-dairy, gluten free and vegetarian options is undeniably a big plus for this venue as they are so few and far between on the Costa del Sol.

Pet Friendly!

Pets are welcomed as part of the family.

Value for Money:

The prices are very fair and down to earth, particularly considering they do offer quality produce.

Zero Hero Venue

In support of the community initiative to encourage road safety, Urban Chai rewards designated drivers get free soft drinks as part of the Zero Hero campaign.

Summary

Urban Chai is a great place to visit alone, to use as a work space, meet up with family and friends in a cosy atmosphere with good “home cooked” fresh, healthy food.
